We are a new innovative theatre company with a fresh outlook on the creative landscape. We aim to explore our own original work as well as preexisting pieces (with our own added twists). We strive to make theatre that’s accessible and welcoming to all.
Our Story
Wax Wings was originally created by Eva and Madeleine who had met in 2022 while studying BA Acting at Bath Spa University, the pair began working together in the February of their second year after bonding over their shared love of Shakespeare leading them to work on a short film adaptation of Shakespeare's 'Much Ado About Nothing'. Amye and Luke were also studying the same BA Acting degree at Bath Spa, and were hired as actors for this short film, where a creative kinship was discovered.
A shared love of theatre was discovered between Madeleine, Eva and Amye in May 2024 through a production of Shakespeare's 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' and in March 2025 the three women joined forces to make Wax Wings a reality.
In the following months the Wax Wings' team grew. After working with Luke on a few more projects and productions, he was offered the role of fight and intimacy coordinator, he was followed closely by Emilia who has signed on as movement director after years of working with Madeleine on choreography and dance.
Meet the Team
The Wax Wings' team is a deeply creative group who eat, sleep and breath stories and ideas. Their devising process is incredibly collaborative and sometimes includes moments of telepathy.
